I hadn't realized that Boxing Day is also St. Stephen's Day. (Of course. "On the feast of Stephen," etc.) That does make St. Stephen an appropriate Christmas tune. Or at least one to play while serving leftovers.

I like this:

>Stephen is the patron saint of deacons, headaches, horses, coffin makers, and masons. He is often represented carrying a pile of rocks or with rocks on his head.

Headaches? There's a patron saint of headaches? Maybe Christmas used to be more like New Year's.

So it looks like he's also more or less the patron saint of cowboy tunes (horses), things relevant to the Dead (coffins), and rock (masons and Stephen's rock collection).

Rocks on his head? Perhaps the line in the song is not "been here so long" or "hair so long." It must be "hair so strong he's got to calling it home." I'm liking this song more and more .

I still have the original Maxell that I got way back then, this is a better sounding version...but my cassette is very nicely decorated with lots of cool space ships and what-not.

Too Stoned ?
In Stephens case him saying to a bunch of angry Jewish priests .
"Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God."
Then he got stoned ...

The secular modern version of this would be , while frying your brains out , getting naked, and humping a police car with LAPD all around ...

BTW, great show ! I am very fond of that early 78 tour . I saw them on 1-10, but had I gone on the next night 1-11, I would have got a SS .
